Discovering the Village of Bangaan

Bangaan is an agricultural village close to Banaue. It is renowned for its famous rice terraces that sculpt the landscape. The village preserves numerous ancient houses, designated as heritage sites. It remains largely undeveloped with a modest population.

On-site, you can participate in the "mumbayu" by wearing the vibrant, colorful traditional attire of the local inhabitants.

Best Time to Visit Bangaan

Between March and May, Bangaan's rice terraces reveal their magnificent emerald hue. This is the ideal moment to explore the village trails and observe the residents at work.

To get there, you can take a jeepney from Manila to Mayoyo or other nearby towns. Buses depart Manila at 7am and 10am, passing through Banaue. Most travelers return from Banaue between 2pm and 4pm. Beware: jeepneys are often crowded on Saturdays, market day in Banaue. On arrival, you can rent a tricycle or use your own vehicle.

Access to Bangaan Inn is straightforward for any 4x4 or van thanks to the appropriate ground clearance.
