Discovering Anda
Situated at the eastern tip of Bohol, approximately 100 kilometers from Tagbilaran, the town of Anda invites you to a complete change of scenery. This coastal town is both tranquil and refined, with a rich culture and numerous treasures to explore.
It owes its reputation to Quinale Beach, which stretches for three kilometers of immaculate white sand. Expect exceptional sunrises and crystal-clear waters set against a landscape of rare beauty. The rest of the coastline is more wild and rocky, revealing small turquoise coves fringed with coconut palms. Its underground natural pools, with deep and refreshing waters, provide endless joy.
Attractions and Must-See Spots
Cabagnow Cave Pool
Immerse yourself in the natural pool of Cabagnow, with its deep and pristine waters. Descend via the metal ladder or glide into the water to enjoy the cool refreshment. Observe the limestone formations carved by the sea and time. If you're not a confident swimmer, let a buoy assist you.
Quinale Beach
It's a haven of tranquility, still relatively undiscovered by visitors. Stroll across its white sand and let your feet sink into its shallow waters. Settle into the beachside bar to savor a delicious meal with a view of the sea, and take time to witness the sunrise.
Lamanok Island
Set out for Lamanok and explore this peninsula often referred to as an island. Paddle by kayak through the mangrove and discover its caves adorned with ancient rock paintings and burial sites. Enjoy snorkeling to observe starfish, giant clams and colorful fish that inhabit this marine sanctuary.
Can-Umantad Waterfall
Venture to the Can-Umantad Waterfall, the highest in Bohol at 18 meters. Draw close to the cascading layers of water and feel the cool spray surrounding you. Follow the trails to the summit for a complete view of the surrounding forest. This waterfall is located in Candijay, approximately one hour from Anda.
Combento Cave Pool
Visit the natural pool of Combento and let light pour through its wide opening. The water sometimes reaches your neck depending on the tide, but the spot is comfortable and pleasant. Weather permitting, explore Anda's other natural pools such as Kaligoon, the east coast, or Kalorenzo.
From Tagbilaran
- Taxi or private transport: book through your hotel or arrange upon arrival in Bohol. Allow approximately 2 hours travel time.
- Public van: depart from Tagbilaran's bus terminal, across from Island City Mall (ICM). The journey takes about 2 hours.
- Public bus: take it from the same terminal for approximately 3 hours.
From Cebu
- Ocean Jet Ferry: embark from Terminal 1 heading to Tagbilaran. The crossing takes approximately 2 hours.
- Domestic flight: fly to Panglao and continue your route to Anda.
From Panglao
- Taxi or private transport: book through your hotel or arrange on arrival. Allow approximately 2.5 hours to reach Anda.
- Airport shuttle + public van: the shuttle drops you at the bus terminal opposite Island City Mall, then take the van for 2.5 hours of travel.
- Airport shuttle + public bus: same itinerary as the van, with a journey of approximately 2.5 hours.
